
Elderwise is an independent, member-driven organization offering learning experiences and camaraderie for the over-fifty community in Southeast Michigan.
It was formed in 1992 by representatives of Eastern Michigan University in collaboration with a group of adults interested in developing a continuing education program.
Elderwise offers:
- Opportunities for personal growth.
- In-depth courses and peer teaching.
- Enrichment.
- Interactive learning.
- Social activities.
Elderwise held its new-style Annual Meeting and Luncheon on May 18, 2010, at Cleary University.
A record sixty members and instructors joined us for a special luncheon hosted by the Elderwise Hospitality Committee. Everyone enjoyed the opportunity to catch up with old friends and meet new ones while enjoying a delicious buffet lunch.
After a brief business meeting, Elderwise honored its instructors with an appreciation ceremony.
Please join us at this special lunthtime event to celebrate our ongoing success as a provider of continuing education for seniors. We will also show our appreciation to Elderwise instructors, who have given so freely of their time and talent to provide us with an amazing variety of courses and classes.
Results of the Elderwise Ballot will also be announced.

Join us as we look forward to Fall 2010! You will have the opportunity to sign up for Fall classes, enjoy delicious food, socialise with old friends and make new ones.
Entertainment will be provided by two memebrs of the Mott College Steelheads, an award winning steel drum band from Flint, Michigan. They will play, among other selections, music from the Caribbean that is written exclusively for steel drums.
The Elderwise Fall 2010 Program begins on Tuesday, September 7, 2010.
Elderwise offers a lifelong learning program to the over fifties community in South East Michigan and there’s something to appeal to everyone, including art, literature, travel, media studies, history, biographies, film, music, science, health issues and more – 43 different classes this semester in all! Expect interesting, reasonably priced classes, lively discussion and a lot of fun.

Remember there is always at least one free class, per semester, offered to Elderwise Members. The free class for Fall 2010 will be "Christmas at the Ypsilanti Historical Museum".

Let me tell you about the organization I work for – Elderwise; a group of seniors with an unquencable thirst for knowledge and a passionate desire to provide learning opportunities for other like-minded seniors in Southeast Michigan.
The Fall Kick Off will take place on August 20, 2009, from 1-3 p.m. when new classes offered in the Fall Program will be showcased. Entertainment and deicious home made buffet provided.
